"My computer is old, that's why it's so slow now."
We often hear statements like the above, and most persons tend to assume that as a computer gets older, it must respond more slowly and eventually just gets so slow that it needs to be tossed out and replaced. This is SIMPLY NOT TRUE.
The truth is that a computer should behave today in exactly the same way as it did when you bought it. They don't operate like cars or heavy machinery with large parts that wear out and slow the operation. RAM doesn't "get slower", processors don't "get slower" and even harddrives don't "get slower".
The hardware either works or it doesn't.
If you are reading this right now, we can assume your computer works.
So the problem must be in the software, not the hardware.
It is quite possible that your computer became infected with some type of spyware or adware, which runs in the background and as more and more of these programs infect the computer, the computer's resources are spread out among so many rogue programs that it cannot dedicate all its time to YOUR programs.
This lack of resources to adequately go around leads to you experiencing slowness in browsing the web, typing a Word document, and when the spyware/adware is really bad, even moving the mouse pointer!
I have found a very reputable solution that will test your computer to see if it has been infected, and if so, it will remove problematic malware. You can even get a scan done for free.

I sincerely hope this helps you realize that your computer probably has more years left in it than you thought.
